It's blessed with an exceptional abundance of scenic beauty, native plant and animal life, and public parkland. It is home to large portions of Gowlland Tod Provincial Park and Mount Work Regional Park containing protected Douglas fir habitat and old-growth forest. more

The Ministry of Forests and Range Coastal Fire Centre has issued the attached bulletin on CAMPFIRES ONLY

Complete Burning Ban still in effect until October 15, 2010. No wood-burning stoves,chimineas or fireplaces.

If you see a fire or a column of smoke originating from a source call 911 to report immediately.
