RE:  EAST FIRE HALL PAVING
Recommendation: That authorize execution of the contract for paving the portions of the East Fire Hall parking lot, as referenced in the Fire Chief’s memo dated June 15, 2017, to Five Star paving in the amount of $20,497, plus GST.

RE: EXECUTION OF CONTRACT/APPOINTMENT OF APPROVING OFFICER
Recommendation: That Michael Dillistone, RPP, MCIP be appointed as Approving Officer for the District of Highlands, that the Mayor and Corporate Officer be authorized to execute a one-year contract with Mr. Dillistone for Approving Officer Services in accordance with the funds included in the Financial Plan, and further, that Laura Beckett be appointed as Deputy Approving Officer for the District of Highlands.

RE: RYDER HESJEDAL’S TOUR DE VICTORIA
Recommendation: That Council approve the 2017 Tour de Victoria event on Highlands roads subject to the Event Organizer entering into a Public Property Occupancy Agreement as attached to the report from the Corporate Officer dated June 10, 2017; and further that the Corporate Officer be authorized to execute such an agreement on behalf of the District of Highlands.

Recommendation: That District staff be authorized to submit the draft response to the referral from the Province of BC – Notice of Work for a Mines Act Permit – OK Industries Ltd. As attached to the report from the Chief Administrative Officer dated June 15, 2017.

Motion: That Council move In Camera to discuss items pursuant to the Community Charter, specifically Section 90(1)(g) litigation or potential litigation affecting the municipality; and section 90(1)(k) negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provisions of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the Council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.
