RECOMMENDATIONS FROM COMMITTEES AND COMMISSIONS

Social Sustainability Select Committee – March 12, 2019

4.1.1 Discussion On Work Plan
That both the Sustainable Highlands Final Document and the Summary Document  be amended as follows:  That the word “equestrian” be added to Transportation and Mobility Descriptions of success, bullet 2 after cyclists to read as follows:  “Roads are safe for pedestrians, cyclists and equestrian use”.

4.1.2 Official Community Plan Review
That Council hold a Committee of the Whole meeting as soon as possible to have a dialogue with the public about how problems or errors identified in the OCP, as related to sand and gravel deposits in the South Highlands, may be considered by Council in a timely manner to minimize staff time.     
    

4.1.3 Update On Status On Trails
That staff update the Social Sustainability Select Committee on the status of the  trail system the Millstream Creek Properties for the next committee meeting.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

5.1.

Memo – Corporate Officer

RE:  GRANT IN AID APPLICATIONS
Recommendation:  That Council provide direction to staff in respect to the distribution of Grant in Aid applications.

5.2.

Memo – Chief Administrative Officer

RE:  FIVE YEAR FINANCIAL PLAN – CONTINUED DISCUSSIONS - 2019-2023
1. Approve the increase of 1% in the Asset Management Tax Levy for the average residential
dwelling and addition to the District’s Taxation Policy statement,
2. Maintain the 2018 tax rate multiples in relation to Class 5 and Class 6, and
3. Direct staff to prepare and bring forward draft Financial Plan and Tax Rates Bylaws to the 
May 6, 2019 Council meeting for formal consideration.
