Council Meetings

  1. February 5, 2021 – Council meetings during COVID-19

Council, Committee of the Whole, and Select Committee Meetings

As the Provincial Health Orders on events and gatherings remain in effect, the District of Highlands Council, Committee of the Whole, and Select Committees continue to meet electronically.

Council continues to meet  as per the  2021 Highlands Regular Meeting Schedule that was approved in December 2020.  Committee of the Whole and Select Committee meetings are being held as required.

    Electronic meetings

All meetings continue to be held electronically as permitted by Ministerial Order M192 issued June 17, 2020. Order M192 provides flexibility to local governments in their meeting procedures while supporting increased public presence where appropriate, for both in person and electronic meetings.  Holding electronic meetings allows the District to conduct its business while balancing the health and safety recommendations of the Provincial Health Officer and WorkSafe BC.

    How to join a meeting

The District is using the Zoom platform to hold electronic meetings. The meeting link, meeting ID, and passcode are published with the applicable online agenda. Meeting agendas are available from the Agenda Centre.

    Submit your comments

Members of the public are encouraged to communicate with Council by forwarding comments on agenda items to info@highlands.ca or by Canada Post to 1980 Millstream Rd, Victoria, BC, V9B 6H1.
