Property Taxes

  • Taxes are always due on the next business day following July 1 Canada Day.  2016 Taxes are due July 4, 2016.
  • After July 4, any outstanding current (2016) property tax amount is subject to a 5% penalty including unclaimed Home Owner Grants (HOG).
  • An additional 5% penalty will be applied after September 1.
  • Outstanding arrears (2015) and delinquent (2014) taxes accrue daily interest at a percent (%) set by the province.
  • TAX SALE
    Properties which are in a delinquent status (taxes that have been outstanding since 2014) will be SOLD in a tax sale/ auction at 10am, Monday, September 26, 2016.

    A registered letter will be sent to property owners in the next few weeks.

    Also note, the tax sale will be advertised in two issues of the Goldstream Gazette a few weeks prior to tax sale which will list the address, the legal description, and upset price for each property.

    Should you need an update of your outstanding tax amount, please contact our office.  You can also register through our new Online Service button on our homepage which will give you access to your account balance.

    To ensure your payment is applied to your account in a timely fashion, please drop off your payment at the District Office located at 1980 Millstream Road.  We accept cash, cheque or debit.  After hours, cheques can be dropped in our secure mailbox at the front door (no cash please.)

    UPDATE YOUR MAILING ADDRESS

    If you have moved or bought your property this year, please give the District Office a quick call at 250-474-1773 before mid-May to ensure that the District has your current mailing address. The District Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
