RE: ADVOCACY FOR LEGISLATION TO PROTECT BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY AND ECOSYSTEM HEALTH (Revised from version received at the May 16, 2022 Council meeting)
Recommendation: 
That Council rescind their May 16, 2022 motion regarding reference to the April 25, 2022 West Coast Environmental Law letter of advocacy as per the Draft Notice of Motion and Advocacy Resolution for Legislation to Protect Biological Diversity, and approve to replace with the revised version as re-submitted.

RE:  LETTER TO CRD REGARDING MOUNT WORK REGIONAL PARK DRAFT MANAGEMENT PLAN
Recommendation:
That the letter attached to the Corporate Officer’s May 30th report in response to the Mount Work Regional Park Draft Management Plan be received as presented and sent to the Capital Regional District.

Report, Building Inspector, May 26, 2022

RE:  BC ENERGY STEP CODE IMPLEMENTATION
Recommendation:
That staff be directed to amend Highlands’ Building Bylaw 192 to incorporate the BC Energy Step Code, requiring approach 3 for all new construction as noted on the report of the Building Inspector dated May 26, 2022.

10.1.

Report, Municipal Planner, May 27, 2022

RE:  GRANT TO REPLACE PUBLIC EV CHARGING UNITS
Recommendation:
That District of Highlands participate in the CRD led Regional Public Electric Vehicle Charging Network project grant application to the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program CleanBC Communities Fund grant program; and 
That the District of Highlands supply sites located at 729 Finlayson Arm Road to install 2 level 2 public EV charging stations.

RE:  2022 PAVING PROGRAM - CONTRACT AWARD
Recommendation:
That staff be authorized to enter into a contract with Capital City Paving Ltd. for the 2022 paving program, up to a value of $195,000 plus tax, based on lowest quote.
