RE:  REQUEST FOR PERMISSIVE TAX EXEMPTION:  GREATER VICTORIA GREENBELT SOCIETY & THE LAND CONSERVANCY OF BC (MARY LAKE NATURE SANCTUARY)
If Council wishes to consider a permissive tax exemption for the Greater Victoria Greenbelt Society and The Land Conservancy properties:

That staff be directed to draft a bylaw and appropriate public notification be provided for the requested 5-year permissive tax exemption for taxation years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026 for the following parcels of land commonly known as Mary Lake Nature Sanctuary:

  • 1772 Millstream Road & 1760 Millstream Road - owned by the Greater Victoria Greenbelt Society
  • 721 Lorimer Road – owned by The Land Conservancy of BC.

RE:  COUNCIL MEETING PROCEDURES – BILL 10 AND PHASE 4 BC RESTART PLAN
Recommendation:
1.    That in person meetings for Council, Committee of the Whole and select committees resume beginning September 27, 2021 at the Community Hall; and
2.    That staff be directed to bring forward a Council Procedure Bylaw Amendment after September 29, 2021 that includes amendments such as, but not limited to, changing the location of Council, Committee of the Whole and select committee meetings and allowing for electronic participation and meetings.
